Temporary Notes
Tabla de contenidos
Temporary notes let you tell Dashi about short-term situations without permanently changing your knowledge base. The AI includes these notes when drafting responses.
When to Use Temporary Notes
- Closures — “Closed this Saturday for a private event”
- Sold-out items — “Out of boba today”
- Specials — “20% off all haircuts this week”
- Staff changes — “Maria is off today, only taking bookings for Alex”
- Wait times — “Current wait time is about 45 minutes”
- Holiday hours — “Open until 6pm on New Year’s Eve”
Adding a Temporary Note
From Business Settings
- Go to Business Settings.
- Find the Temporary Notes section.
- Type your note and save.
Via the Business Assistant
Open the Business Assistant chat and say something like:
“We’re out of the chicken pho today”
The AI will add it as a temporary note rather than updating the knowledge base.
How Temporary Notes Work
- The AI reads your temporary notes alongside your knowledge base when drafting responses.
- Temporary notes take priority over KB info — if your KB says “Open Saturday” but a temp note says “Closed this Saturday,” the AI will tell customers you’re closed.
- Notes are displayed separately from your KB so you can easily spot and remove them.
Removing a Temporary Note
When the situation changes (you’re restocked, the special ends, etc.):
- Go to Business Settings > Temporary Notes.
- Clear the note that’s no longer relevant.
Or tell the Business Assistant: “We have boba again” — it will remove the note for you.
